Course Syllabus: 

To achieve the  NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Practiceyou need to achieve a minimum 31 credits from the 5 Mandatory Units (23 credits) plus a minimum of 8 credits from 4 optional units.


Mandatory Units: 

  • Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety( 4 Credits )
  • Develop procedures to safely control work operations( 4 Credits )
  • Monitor procedures to safely control work operations( 5 Credits )
  • Promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace ( 4 Credits )
  • Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of the workplace (6 Credits ) 

Optional Units: 

  • Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace (5 Credits )
  • Make sure actions in the workplace aim to protect the environment ( 4 Credits )
  • Review health and safety procedures in the workplace( 4 Credits )
  • Supervise the health, safety and welfare of a learner in the workplace ( 4 Credits )

 

How is this NVQ Level 3 Assessed? 

You can complete this qualification without having to sit an exam( No Exams – all Units evidence based assessment).

You cannot fail an NVQ, you are either competent or not yet competent. Unlike with academic qualifications there are no exams to fail and re-sit.
